LYNDEN, Wash. — A standoff south of Lynden Saturday morning ended peacefully with the suspect in custody.

The Skagit Valley Herald says the suspect kicked in an acquaintance’s door around 6:30 AM in Clear Lake of Skagit County, hit the man inside with a firearm, held him at gunpoint, then took the victim’s cellphone and left.

The victim identified the man, leading to a SWAT response at a home in the 500 block of Beard Road when the suspect barricaded himself inside with a woman and children.

Whatcom County Sheriff Bill Elfo says negotiators got the man to surrender and no one was hurt.
