BELLINGHAM, Wash.- A transient man has been arrested for his alleged role in a violent kidnapping in Bellingham.
Court documents state that the victim was approached by three suspects- a man and two women- on July 2nd at Sunset Pond.
The suspects demanded that the victim tell them the location of a truck they were looking for, but the victim refused to comply.
The female suspects began to beat the victim with a baton while the male suspect stole the victim’s belongings.
The victim told investigators that the suspects threatened to continue their assault unless she got in the back of a truck.
She was driven to another location against her will, where the suspects continued to beat her with the baton.
A witness pulled up to the scene after hearing the victim scream for help, which prompted all three suspects to flee on foot.
On August 25th, officers located and arrested the male suspect, 25 year old Michael Austin.
Austin is being held on several charges, including a felony warrant for a violent robbery in May of this year.
The two female suspects remain at large.
