BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Sheriff’s deputies arrested a man who was brandishing a gun at a county park Friday afternoon, October 21st.
Deputies responded to Marine Drive Park, just west of Bellingham, to reports of a person with a weapon and in distress.
He fired a shot into the water while on the phone with officers, who then cleared the park and set up roadblocks.
After more than three hours, 19-year-old Azariah Alseth Kingston agreed to put down the gun and surrender.
He tried to hit an officer while being taken into custody and faces assault and obstruction charges along with reckless endangerment.
