BELLINGHAM, Wash. — A man faces a number of charges following a hit and run collision on Meridian Street at East Bellis Fair Parkway.

A police spokesman says the crash happened just before 11 p.m. on Tuesday.

A pick-up driver involved fled the scene, but officers say they located Robert Brown driving the same truck on Meridian near Kellogg road and pulled him over.

They say Brown appeared to be intoxicated and a search of Brown’s person at the jail turned up hydrocodone pills he didn’t have a prescription for.

Brown faces charges of hit and run, DUI and unlawful possession of a controlled substance.
