BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A transient man was arrested after threatening store employees with a knife.
Bellingham Police say that officers were called to the business in Fairhaven around 8:30 on Wednesday morning, December 21st.
The suspect, 30-year-old William Moffett, then left the store and walked down Harris Ave where officers employed various de-escalation tactics in order to take him into custody.
The Coast Guard assisted because police were concerned he would go into the water.
Moffett was treated at the hospital for exposure to cold temperatures.
No one was injured during the incident.
