BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Police arrested a suspect after a vandalism incident in a Western Washington University academic building Tuesday morning.
In a Western Alert, the university said a man with an ice pick was reported tearing calendars off a wall in a hallway in Arntzen Hall just after 10 o’clock.
He left before police arrived but a student followed him across campus and into Old Main.
The man then fled into the Sehome Arboretum where University and Bellingham Police officers arrested him near the observation tower.
The man is not student and has been trespassed from the campus before.
