BELLINGHAM, Wash. — A Bellingham man is in jail after police say he assaulted his ex-girlfriend, her sister and an officer early Wednesday.
Lieutenant Danette Beckley says 23-year-old Matthew Rosales showed up at the 21-year-old woman’s home on Fraser Street and forced his way in when she answered the door.
The woman called 911 at about 2 A.M. and reported Rosales was about to assault her.
Rosales kicked her in the stomach, began to strangle her and smashed her cellphone.
Her sister tried to intervene but he began assaulting her and chased her out of the apartment while she was holding a baby.
Rosales resisted arrest and officers had to use physical force to take him into custody.
Both women and an officer suffered injuries.
Rosales faces a slew of charges.
