UPDATE:

Bellingham Police are investigating after an older man was found with a head wound along Bill McDonald Parkway near Sehome High School Wednesday morning.

Lieutenant Claudia Murphy says officers were given a brief description of what happened to the man and of a possible suspect.

No person matching the description was found in the area.

Officers then interviewed the man at the hospital and received “additional and different” information about how the man was injured.

Western Washington University’s Alert system initially reported the incident as a robbery and assault.

But Lt. Murphy says officers can’t confirm that and an investigation continues.
