BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A man accused of killing another person at a homeless encampment in Bellingham has pleaded not guilty.

Travis Hamilton is charged with 2nd degree murder in the shooting death of 26-year-old Scott Dobson earlier this month.

Hamilton told officers at the scene that he didn’t know who shot Dobson at the encampment behind Walmart on September 3rd.

Investigators later found a rifle in Hamilton’s tent along with bullets that were the same as those that killed Dobson.

Hamilton’s trial is set for November 8th.
