SEATTLE, Wash. – A former North Carolina man has been charged federally for possessing an improvised gun he brought to a Seattle protest.

25-year-old Devinare Antwan Parker was arrested May 31st after he threw a 16 oz. can of beer through the window of a Seattle police car

The can struck an officer in the face and Parker was placed under arrest for third degree assault.

That is when the officer found an improvised firearm capable of firing shotgun shells in his possession.

Parker allegedly shouted that he brought the weapon to the protest to shoot and kill police officers.

He is now in state custody awaiting his first appearance in federal court.
