BIRCH BAY, Wash. – A man suspected of threatening to kill his neighbors and a security guard in Birch Bay Village has had his case dismissed less than a month before his scheduled trial.

According to police records, 50-year-old Scott Brandon Peterson approached the Village security guard this past July 9th telling him he was going to kill his neighbors and that the guard may be one of the victims.

Peterson then allegedly stabbed the security podium, cut camera wires, and threatened to kill himself before eventually being booked into Whatcom County Jail after attempting to avoid Sheriff’s deputies.

The Northern Light reports court commissioner Leon F. Henley Jr. ordered the dismissal releasing Peterson earlier this month, with court documents not explaining the reasoning.
