BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Bellingham police arrested a man after he allegedly used a taser on an employee at Walmart.

Lieutenant Claudia Murphy reports officers responded to the store around 3 p.m. this past Sunday and found the suspect, identified as Gavin Zane Ruckle, leaving with a cart full of unpaid merchandise.

An employee tried to get the stolen items back when Ruckle reportedly pulled out and activated a taser.

As more officers were arriving, they spotted Ruckle running across Meridian Street and attempted to stop him.

Ruckle reportedly resisted arrest and continued to flee, but officers eventually caught up to him and used their own taser as well as batons to get him to comply with their requests.
