BIRCH BAY, Wash. – Whatcom County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a prolific felon in a drive-by shooting near Birch Bay on Tuesday night, June 7th.
A sheriff’s spokesperson says callers to 911 reported gunshots in the 4600 block of Alderson Road at about 10:30 p.m.
Residents reported that a silver Subaru Impreza sped away after the shooting and deputies contacted the vehicle on Harborview Road.
There were three people in the car and the driver and backseat passenger both pointed to the man in the front passenger seat as the shooter.
Deputies found a loaded handgun and ammunition under the front seat and arrested 38-year-old Shawn Noisey of Blaine.
There was no apparent target of the shooting and no damage was reported.
Noisey has 14 felony convictions going back as far as 2004 and is currently under Department of Corrections supervision.
