A standoff with an armed man closed down Sunset Drive for several hours Saturday.
Bellingham Police say fire fighters responding to a medical call were confronted by a man with what they thought was a real gun, but later turned out to be an Airsoft gun.
The man locked himself in his apartment and a police negotiator was able to convince the man to come out unarmed and he was taken to the hospital.
Police closed Sunset between Orleans and Woburn Street during the evening standoff.
