BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Whatcom Falls Park is under construction for an improved trailhead.
Parks and Recreation Director Leslie Bryson said the project includes completing missing links in the Whatcom Creek Greenway & Trail system.
More than 1500 feet of new gravel trail will provide users easier access to the upper part of Whatcom Falls Park, which is now only accessible after a dangerously steep climb.
The project also includes improved trailhead parking, signage and environmental restoration.
The Greenway 3 Levy and Olympic Pipeline Settlement Fund will cover the costs.
