KENDALL, Wash. – A young Maple Falls man faces drive-by shooting and other charges following two incidents earlier this week.
The Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office says a driver reported that a man he didn’t know fired a shot at him after they got into an altercation on South Pass Road on Monday, October 17th.
The victim said the other driver pulled in front of him and was yelling at him as he slowed to a stop on Kendall Road.
The victim flipped the other man off as he drove past, and the man then followed.
They both pulled over on South Pass Road and the victim got out of his vehicle, only to hear a gunshot and see the other man brandishing a gun before leaving.
Later that day, deputies were called to a home in Maple Falls where family members had argued.
They said 18-year-old Paul Pimentel had produced a gun during the argument, fired two shots and threatened to kill a female family member.
Investigators linked Pimentel to the earlier incident and took him into custody on Tuesday, October 18th.
