The Mariners lost their weekend series with the Athletics in Oakland. After winning game one on Friday, the M’s dropped their games on Saturday and Sunday.
Luis Castillo was on the mound for the Mariners Sunday but failed to reach the seventh inning for the first time with the Mariners. Castillo said after the game that he was never able to get fully into a rhythm.
The Mariners won game one of the series on Friday 10-2, before falling 4-3 on Saturday and 5-3 on Sunday.
The M’s are off on Monday before playing the Nationals at T-Mobile Park in Seattle on Tuesday.
