The hair flip is moving south to Tacoma. The Seattle Mariners have optioned infielder Taylor Motter to Triple-A Tacoma. Mariners General Manager Jerry Dipoto announced the move Monday. A corresponding roster move will be announced prior to tonight’s game versus Boston at Safeco Field.

The 27-year-old Motter appeared in 70 games with Seattle, hitting .204 with 7 home runs and 23 RBI.  Defensively, he appeared at every position except center field, pitcher and catcher.

After a hot start in April filling in for an injured Jean Segura, Motter became a fan favorite, known for flipping his long hair to celebrate home runs,
