MOUNT VERNON, Wash. — A teenage boy blinded in a still-unsolved shooting in Burien got some support from a retired Mount Vernon Police officer who himself was left blinded by a bullet.
KIRO cameras were rolling when officer Mike McClaughry greeted 14-year-old Andy Isidoro Monday.

Andy was blinded in December in one of 11 shootings of vehicles along State Route 509 in Burien.
Officer McClaughry was shot while on duty in Mount Vernon in 2016.
McClaughry told Andy that people will reach out to him and he should welcome their help.
Investigators are still asking for the public’s help in solving the 509 shootings, and ask that anyone with information call 425-401-7880 or email SR509shootingtip@wsp.wa.gov.
