OLYMPIA, Wash. — The Washington State Medical Association is reacting to governor Inslee’s plan to speed up COVID-19 vaccinations in Washington to 45,000 people per day.
President Dr. Nathan Schlicher says he’s encouraged by the plan for mass vaccinations across the state while continuing to engage the physicians and health systems that have been working hard in the initial effort.
This as state senate Republican Brad Hawkins is applauding Governor Inslee’s decision to make public-school employees eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine.
Hawkins said he is glad that the Governor agreed to expand vaccine access to all employees because the people on the frontlines helping our state fulfill its paramount duty regarding education deserve to be protected.
The decision expanded access to public school employees regardless of their age.
