BELLINGHAM, Wash. – The Whatcom Memorial Day Parade is back on this year and organizers say they have room for more entries.
Betty McMasters says they’re fired up for the parade’s return after it was cancelled for two years because of the pandemic.
“It’s time to celebrate our health, our communities, our military, our kids and the whole thing,” said McMasters. “We’ve just got a lot to celebrate, so that’s what we’re going to do.”
It was known as the Ski to Sea parade for years.
But when the organizers decided to end it, Betty’s late husband Mac McMasters stepped in to keep it and refocus it as a Memorial Day parade.
The parade starts at noon on Saturday, May 28th at Alabama and Cornwall Streets in Bellingham.
