TACOMA, Wash. – A memorial for fallen Pierce County Sheriff’s Deputy Daniel McCartney is Wednesday following a procession and people are encouraged to come.
KOMO reports the Blue Stripe Campaign wanted to give back to McCartney’s widow and three children.
The campaign decided to put together a special banner and hundreds of people signed the long sheet of paper with their prayers, notes of encouragement and just to let the family know they’re thinking about them.
McCartney died after he was shot January 7th while investigating a burglary.
Two people were later arrested and one suspect died at the scene from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
