REDMOND, Wash. (AP) – Microsoft can buy its own, greener power on the open market under a plan approved by state regulators.

The Redmond-based company says it can now buy more carbon-free power from wind, solar and hydropower.

Microsoft is paying a nearly $24 million exit fee to Puget Sound Energy to ensure other ratepayers are not harmed.
