WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. — A midweek holiday, dark, shorter days and on-going construction projects may affect travel this week.

Improvements to the Northwest/Bakerview intersection continue with substantial delays expected, and drivers are encouraged to avoid the area if possible.

The Meridian St. water quality project between Bakerview Road and Stuart Road and on Kellogg Road will continue at night between 7 PM and 7 AM, Monday through Friday.

The roadway will remain open with lane closures and lane shifts.

The West Horton Road project is ongoing and delays are possible near this project site.

And work continues on Birch Bay Drive with work from 7am to 5pm grading the path on the west side and 4pm to 2am delivering and importing gravel to the site.
