BELLINGHAM, Wash. — A Winter Weather Advisory for the Cascade Mountains ends Friday morning as rain moves into the lowlands, bringing with it an increased threat of urban flooding.
The National Weather Service says warmer temperatures and rain will help melt the snow, increasing the risk of landslides in our area and will likely cause water to pool in the streets and near sewer drains.
The Mount Baker Ski Area says they’ve gotten more than 45 inches of snow over the last few days and expect “perfect conditions” for this weekend.
However, it says a Deep Snow and Tree Well Hazard Advisory is in effect.
You’re urged to avoid skiing or snowboarding near trees, to go with a partner, and sticking to the groomed runs.
