GREENWATER, Wash. — An elderly Blaine woman is home safe after a Silver Alert was issued late Monday.
The woman went for a one-block trip to the store around 1:30 Monday afternoon in her van, and never returned.
A little after 5 A.M. Tuesday a DOT supervisor on his way to work spotted the van east of Puyallup, near Enumclaw.
He alerted the State Patrol and they intercepted her van.
Trooper Mike Cheek said the woman was very tired and nearly out of gas.
The DOT supervisor that spotted her got gas, and another driver, to get her and her van safely to a nearby hotel.
Trooper Cheek remained at the hotel until her family from Blaine arrived.
