DARRINGTON, Wash. — Two missing hikers in the North Cascades have been found.
David James and Marshall Cabe started their trek on August 16 at the Downey Creek trailhead, about 18 miles east of Darrington.
The Seattle Times says officials found one of the men at about 2 PM Wednesday and the other an hour later.
59-year-old James was airlifted to a hospital while 64-year-old Cabe was taken home to recover.
James told rescuers they had been out of food for five days and he didn’t think he would have survived another 24 hours.
