CUSTER, Wash. — Monitoring continues on the site of the Custer oil train derailment last Tuesday.
The state Department of Ecology in their most recent update Saturday said no air safety standards have been exceeded as crude oil removal from the damaged rail cars continued.
Communication Manager Ty Keltner said completing that would clear the way for the eventual removal of the oil from the site altogether.
As work continues, locals are reminded to stay away from the site of the derailment.
