OLYMPIA, Wash. — L&I is fining more businesses for alleged safe start violations.
The Department announced 8 more fines totaling over $77,000 yesterday, this time of Yakima County fitness centers.
Seven of the 8 gyms were Anytime Fitness locations, cited for potentially exposing employees to the coronavirus.
L & I says they received complaints that the gyms were open when they should not be, under Yakima County’s modified Phase I status.
One of the franchise owners has started a GoFundMe page legal fund.
It has raised more than $10,000 to date and includes a contribution from Yakima’s mayor.
