SUDDEN VALLEY, Wash. – We’re hearing more about the last moments a teen from China was seen alive at Camp Firwood.
The Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office said Bin Wang was with a group of campers doing a sailboat tipping drill.
Wang didn’t participate in the drill but was seen at the beach near the water.
He asked another camper to hold his glasses and removed his shirt, shoes and socks.
Sheriff Bill Elfo said Wang didn’t know how to swim.
No one remembers him going into the water and the lifeguard on duty didn’t notice anything unusual.
Wang was part of a group of Chinese nationals on a tour.
His body was turned over to the Medical Examiner’s Office.
