OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) — The Department of Labor and Industries is revising regulations that aim to keep oil refinery workers safe.
A spokesperson for the state Division of Occupational Safety and Health says the rules address how to protect workers from toxic or hazardous chemicals.
The Skagit Valley Herald reports they would require refineries to assess how corrosion, cracking and other degradation could damage equipment.
Public comment will be taken on the rules this summer.
