SEATTLE, Wash. — Smoky air may return to Washington this week.

New wildfires are burning in northern and central California

Some of the smoke could make its way up to Washington by Wednesday or Thursday, but KING 5 reports it is not expected to be as heavy and polluted as it was earlier this month.

Most of the smoke will be in higher elevations.

The EPA’s Air Quality forecast for Bellingham is showing as green, or “good” through Friday.
