OLYMPIA, Wash. — Californians who want new surroundings appear to favor the Pacific Northwest.
A study of census data by Porch.com shows the top origin of people moving to Washington State over the past five years was California, with a total net migration of over 7,000 Californians to Washington.
Oregon and Idaho net migration is also topped by Californians.
Top origin for persons moving to Montana or Alaska, was Washington State.
