BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Guests who stayed at Motel 6 in Bellingham in early 2017 may be eligible for compensation for having their personal information shared with federal immigration officials.
Attorney General Bob Ferguson says people who stayed at the Bellingham Motel 6 between January 29 and March 11, 2017 could receive part of a $12-million settlement reached with the company.
Guests during that time can receive compensation whether or not they were contacted by Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
People who stayed at six other Motel 6 locations in Western Washington are also eligible.
Ferguson alleged in a lawsuit that sharing the information with ICE was unlawful.
