MOUNT PILCHUCK, Wash. (AP) – After four rescues in one week, Snohomish County emergency responders are warning against hiking on Mount Pilchuck unless you’re well trained for steep snow conditions.

A heavy winter snow pack and late spring melt-out on the mountain means the trail up Pilchuck is slippery and hard to navigate.

Two of the people rescued over the last seven days had serious injuries.
