MOUNT VERNON, Wash – A Mount Vernon auto dealer has pled guilty to stealing retail sales taxes intended for public services.
Khaled E. Saad, President of American Auto & Body, LLC, entered a plea of guilty to first-degree theft on June 23rd in Skagit County Superior Court.
Saad had been accused of not turning retail sales taxes collected to the state.
The Washington State Department of Revenue in a news release said the company was ordered to pay the state $240,000 in assessed sales taxes, plus $500 in victim restitution.
