MOUNT VERNON, Wash. — A Mount Vernon couple has been displaced after an explosion and fire damaged their home.
The Skagit Valley Herald reports the couple heard and felt an explosion in the garage of their Apache Drive home early Saturday morning.
When the couple went to investigate, they found their garage filled with smoke and fire.
Fire crews were able to keep the fire from spreading to the rest of the house, but the garage and a car parked inside suffered heavy damage.
There were no injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
