MOUNT VERNON, Wash. – Law enforcement in Skagit County is looking for a man who stole a car with a 12-year-old girl inside.

Mount Vernon Police say the man stole the car in the 1100 block of Riverside Drive last Friday evening, February 18th.

He dropped the girl off at a Burlington apartment after realizing she was in the car and a good Samaritan drove her back to Mount Vernon.

Police located the girl and she is safe.

They later recovered the vehicle.

Mount Vernon Police are trying to identify the suspect and would also like to speak with the man who helped the girl.

Police are still trying to identify the good Samaritan described as a Hispanic male, 35-40 years of age with short hair driving a dark colored truck with a possible grey sign on the back.
