MOUNT VERNON, Wash. — A man accused of robbing a Mount Vernon bank late last month was arrested Monday in Bothell.
Police tell the Skagit Valley Herald 24-year-old Ali Abdul Al-Buturky went to a U.S. Bank around 4 PM on November 28, handed the teller a note claiming to be armed and demanded money.
A suspect was caught on camera in the bank and at a restaurant, and with tips from other law enforcement agencies in the area, the suspect was identified as Al-Buturky.
Police attribute the arrest to the wide distribution of Al-Buturky’s name and photo.
This robbery came exactly two weeks after a robbery at the same U.S. Bank, reported on by KGMI in mid-November.
