KANSAS CITY, MO. – Seattle Mariners infielder D.J. Peterson has been claimed off waivers by the Chicago White Sox. The 25-year-old native of Chandler, Arizona was designated for assignment by Seattle July 30th.

Peterson hit .264 with 12 home runs and 54 RBI in 103 games with AAA Tacoma this season. He was originally selected by Seattle with the 12th overall pick in the 2013 MLB First-Year Player Draft out of the University of New Mexico. In parts of 5 minor league seasons in the Mariners organization, Peterson hit .269 with 82 home runs and 334 RBI in 496 career games.
