BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A Mukilteo man remains in custody after attempting to stab a store employee in Bellingham.
Court documents state that the suspect, 34-year-old Steven Retasket, entered the store off of the Guide on July 19th.
Retasket made a passing comment to the employee before putting them in a chokehold.
He then pulled out a knife and attempted to stab the employee, but the employee was able to get away.
Other employees called 911 as Retasket chased the first employee through the store.
Retasket faces a first degree assault charge.
