BELLINGHAM, Wash. — The Western Washington University student murdered Wednesday morning has been identified.

KOMO reports 22-year-old Stephanie Brenner-Cresswell’s ex-boyfriend, Rigoberto Galvan, is accused of fatally shooting her inside her Bellingham apartment.

Police arrested Galvan after they say he called 911 to report Brenner-Cresswell’s murder and gave himself up without incident.

Counselors are available on the Western campus for students and staff.
