CASCADE RANGE – A search and rescue team from Naval Air Station Whidbey Island made three rescues in the Cascades in recent days.

The helicopter crew was training near Mount Shuksan on Thursday when they responded to a call of an injured hiker on a mountain east of Lake Chelan.

They rescued the 17-year-old and transported him to a hospital in Brewster.

On Friday afternoon they rescued a man with a dislocated shoulder on Mount Baker and took him to PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center.

Friday night they picked up a woman with a broken arm on a mountain in the Okanogan National Forest and took her to Harborview in Seattle.

The Navy says its crews from NAS Whidbey have conducted 20 missions in Washington this year.
