BLAINE, Wash- After a penalty settlement, Nature’s Path Food’s Inc. will help the city of Blaine in storm water and city park projects.

The company will assist Blaine in purchasing land and restoring stream work along the Cain Creek, according to a statement released by the Department of Ecology.

The $29,000 package will settle Nature’s Food’s 2016 appeal of an Ecology penalty for $22,000.

The Department of Ecology alleged that the company violated the state water quality permit. The company is complying by making improvements to pre-treated systems for wastewater discharges.
