EVERSON, Wash. – Some people floating on the Nooksack River between Everson and Lynden got into some trouble and had to be hoisted to safety by a helicopter yesterday.
Emergency responder Jim Peeples used Facebook Live to broadcast the rescue yesterday evening off of Nolte Road.

The Navy helicopter from Whidbey Island plucked three people out of the river who’d been clinging to some branches after their craft overturned.
It appears that everyone is OK.
