Naval Air Station Whidbey will be conducting a demolition of explosives found at the Lake Hancock training area south of Coupeville Thursday.
People near Lake Hancock may hear explosions and feel ground vibrations from the demolition.
Lake Hancock was used as a practice bombing and mine laying training range from World War II until the 1970s.
The explosives found are expected to be inert practice rounds. However, out of caution, Naval officals have decided to detonate them in place.
Contact the Naval Air Station Whidbey Public Affairs Office with questions or concerns.
