BELLINGHAM, Wash. — A local family that survived the Las Vegas concert shooting last year says a neighbor shot and killed their therapy dog, triggering PTSD as they still cope with the massacre that left 57 people dead.
The Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office cited Odin Maxwell for recklessly discharging a firearm.
Deputies say Maxwell claimed the dog was chasing his chickens, but they found no evidence that any had been hurt.
On Thursday, Maxwell declined to comment to The Associated Press.
The family is considering a lawsuit.
