BELLINGHAM, Wash. – The next chief of the Bellingham Police Department comes from within the force.
Mayor Kelli Linville said continuity in the department is important to her.
Deputy Chief David Doll, a life-long Whatcom County resident, becomes Chief on December 1. The current chief, Cliff Cook, retires November 30.
Doll started with BPD in 1980 as an explorer cadet and became a commissioned officer in 1984.
