MOUNT VERNON, Wash. – A stink bug that devastated crops for a decade on the East Coast is now in Skagit County.
The Skagit Valley Herald reports the brown marmorated stink bug was found last week in south Mount Vernon.
The insect feasts on a variety of crops, including berries.
Local farmers and gardeners are being urged to monitor their fields and report any sightings of the bugs.
