OLYMPIA, Wash. – New state laws involving guns, catalytic converters and more are now in effect in Washington state.

The state’s new ban on gun magazines holding more than ten rounds took effect on Friday, July 1st.

Buying, selling, transferring or manufacturing a so-called ghost gun is also now illegal.

Guns that are not antiques and can’t be traced by serial number are considered ghost guns.

Scrap metal businesses are now required to keep a record on any person they buy a catalytic converter from.

Instant cash payments for converters are also banned.

And an alert system for missing indigenous persons is now in effect as is a law requiring hospitals to provide more charity care.
